Weighing instruments are used in various situations in the transport sector. They are important to identify the weight of the vehicle and, consequently, the weight of the goods transported. This can be needed to be in compliance with legislation, improve safety of the shipping, avoid damage to the road infrastructure or identify the weight of the goods transported to increase efficiency.

Dedicated instruments such as static and dynamic weighbridges, weigh pads and on-board weighing systems are developed to deal with each specific situation in the transport sector. Moreover, new innovations are continuously introduced to increase reliability and speed. Examples are dynamic weigh bridges that make it possible to weigh the vehicle without it having to stop. Additionally, on-board weighing instruments are used in new situations where they can easily and accurately weigh the load on the vehicle.
